About me

I’m a Cinematic Director at Ubisoft Sofia with 12+ years of experience in the gaming industry. Specializing in Cinematics & Interactive Storytelling, I began my career in theatre direction, taking on a variety of creative, technical and organizational roles across both the performing arts and game development.
What I learned through acting, set and puppet design, script adaptation, and production management has proven invaluable in game development, especially in crafting cinematics and narrative experiences. I’m deeply grateful to all the teachers and collaborators who have shaped my path.
Approach
I believe narrative video games are still in the early stages of their maturity as a medium. True innovation, to me, comes from creating meaningful experiences rather than focusing solely on flashy form.
The ludo-narrative should resonate through relatable conflict and theme, with characters of real depth and intention. Immersion and player affiliation grows much like a social relationship — with time, attention, and the right gestures at the right moments.

I see players much like stage actors: both inhabit a fictional world and live through it sincerely. The director and the script create a framework — a world of given circumstances — but it’s the actor who brings it to life through personal experience, attention, and reaction to others on stage.
Similarly, in a well-crafted game, players move within an invisible framework shaped by the game’s design. Their experience feels spontaneous and personal, yet it unfolds within boundaries carefully composed to guide emotion and meaning without ever revealing the hand behind it.
